Over 30 Norton Commons Businesses Offering Special Deals on Shop Small Saturday

Independent shopping, dining and services hub also hosting several other holiday shopping events

PROSPECT, Ky. (Nov. 1, 2023) – Norton Commons is looking to entice shoppers to keep their dollars local this holiday season with a wide array of coordinated promotions, sales, and pop-ups offered by the walkable community’s many independent shops, boutiques, and restaurants. The community has added more than a dozen businesses to its already robust lineup in 2023.

Two days of note are Nov. 25 and Dec. 2.

Nov. 25 is Shop Small Saturday / Small Business Saturday, with nearly 30 boutiques, shops, service providers, and restaurants offering giveaways, deals, and flash sales. Many stores will also offer refreshments to shoppers.

According to an American Express survey, 72 percent of shoppers said Small Business Saturday makes them want to shop and dine at small, independently owned retailers and restaurants all year long. Overall, Small Business Saturday drove an estimated $17.9 billion based on projections from U.S. consumer reported spending in 2022.

Dec. 2 is the Annual Holiday Open House with another round of bargains and good cheer. The Toys for Tots drive includes carriage rides or a photo with Santa in exchange for a new toy donation.

In addition to the businesses centered in the North and South Village Town Centers, six unique shops are again open for the entire holiday season at the retail cottages in the Norton Commons North Village Market located at 6301 Moonseed St.

Dec. 2-3, a Holiday Market with 20 vendors popping up for visitors to purchase unique gifts from talented local artists and artisans.

“We had so much success with our cottages in the North Village Market, we decided to open a full store when space became available in January,” said Nickie Jones of Nicole & B Boutique. “All the growth this year is exciting. I’ve lost track of all the new business openings. Having such a concentration of independent businesses really lifts all boats. This is a destination and we’re looking forward to a record year.”
