DIVERSITY & INCLUSION
We believe that diversity is not only a strength but the foundation of our success. Our shipbuilding team is committed to fostering an environment based on mutual respect and appreciation for each other. Embracing each other’s differences, talents, perspectives and experiences enables us to build the world’s most complex ships – U.S. Navy aircraft carriers and submarines – in service of our nation.
Ten employee resource groups (ERGs), formed around common communities of interest, also support our culture of diversity and inclusion. ERGs facilitate networking, professional and personal development, recruiting, mentoring, knowledge sharing and community outreach.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Whether it’s spending time after hours to mentor the nextgeneration of shipbuilders or helping construct a house for a local family, ourshipbuilding team is proud to give back to the community that we call home.
In the last year, we donated thousands of items for localback-to-school drives, built houses with Habitat for Humanity, volunteered atfood banks and participated in numerous military/veteran job fair and careerevents. Our volunteer program NNS Gives is here to help you contribute yourtime and skills to a cause you care about by offering a variety of communityvolunteer projects and hands-on engagement opportunities.
“Volunteering just makes me feel good, and I like to give back to the community,”
– Kendall Lippert
